Carrickmore Fly-in rescheduled for August

Carrickmore Airfield have announced a new date for their annual fly-in which usually features a BBQ, Ice-Cream van and plenty of planes to watch attempt to land on the tiny runway made trickier by winds, wind turbines and quarries at either end of the airfield!

Certainly a place to have your wits about you, it’s a great spot never the less and I’ve went every year from I’ve started flying and hope to also get there this year!

The new date is Saturday 15th August from 10am to 6pm, so weather and pandemic permitting it should be a great day! Rumour has it there is a small get together in England about Spam but I trust they will all be heading to Carrickmore instead!

You can sign up to the Facebook Event for reminders and news relating to the days events.

Until then, enjoy the below video from 2018 taken by Out & About Northern Ireland showing various arrivals and departures throughout the day and showcasing the variety of aircraft that pay it a visit.
